Mt Hood is a favourite among winter sport enthusiasts due to its pure snow and vast open terrain. You can also enjoy many amenities and activities on the mountain for your whole family.
Mount Snow
The resort's southern side is popular for beginners and intermediate skiers/snowboarders due to its easy access terrain and wide variety of runs. Although the terrain isn't quite as difficult or steep as the north side's, there are a few notable features. These include a black run on Palmer's Lift, and a 1,500-foot ski trail called the South Side Climber's Trail.
If you're looking for a more challenging experience, there are also a number of expert ski trails at Mt. Hood. The trails range from tree skiing to steep terrain.
The popular ski area is just 90 minutes away from Portland. You can choose from beginner and advanced terrain, or take your skills to the next level with private lessons from an experienced instructor.

It's only accessible by road from Seattle and Portland. There is also a large collection in the mountain of ski and snowboard gear. The museum also displays local history.
Mt Brighton
Mount Brighton, another popular choice, is a great place to start ski or snowboarding. While the resort is smaller that many others in Oregon, it still has plenty of terrain. The resort has a few restaurants, a day care center, a snowsports school, and a rental shop, as well as a few retail shops.
Mt Peter
You can also go tubing if you don't want to ski or snowboard. The resort has an amazing 600 ft tubing lane that is perfect for beginners.
You can book your tubing session online, and it's just as fun as the skiing! After your session, enjoy a meal at the Alpinestube Restaurant.
Mt Ashland
Mount Ashland is the state's most iconic and large ski area. It has much to offer for all kinds of skiers. There are plenty of trails to explore, and the views from Mount Ashland are breathtaking.

It doesn't matter if you're an expert skier or novice. The mountain has everything you need for a fun day on the slopes. The resort is also known for its friendly staff and great apres-ski options, like a pub and a coffee roaster.
Meadows
Meadows, a large ski resort that is open to all, offers plenty of entertainment. You'll find 2,150 acres of skiable terrain, 87 marked trails and 13 chairlifts. You'll find many options for dining and a nice caféteria.
Timberline
Timberline is the best place to go if you are looking for some serious skiing and snowboarding. There are many amenities and terrain to suit all skill levels. Timberline is the only place in Oregon that has access to the Cascade Express Lift, which offers panoramic views of half of Oregon. A full-day lift ticket is required to ski at this resort.
FAQ
How much luggage do I need?
The amount of luggage you take depends on the length of your trip. You will only need to bring hand luggage if you're traveling by plane. This is typically less than 20kg. For a bus or train ride, however, you will require more space.
An airport form with information regarding your flight will be handed to you upon arrival. This will include information like the weight of your bag and whether you need assistance in checking them in.
Always check your luggage before you leave the house. If you don’t check it, you might end up waiting hours for everyone else to do so.
Traveling light is the best option, because you never really know what could happen. For example, if your bag gets lost, you won't have anything to wear.
What should I do with my luggage?
There are many options. The most popular option is to use lockers in airports. They are generally located near security. You can get one for $5-10 per Day, depending on how big the locker is.
Renting a storage unit is another option. These units are commonly found outside shopping centers or large hotels. Although prices vary, some places offer discounts for multiple units that are rented together.
A third option is to hire a porter. A porter will transport your luggage from the carousel into your room. He will charge a small service fee for each trip.
Do you ever worry that you might forget something when you travel?
Yes, I often forget stuff. This happens especially when I'm going on a short trip. But luckily, I always have everything with me, so I never run out of anything.
For example, my passport is always with me. When I purchase tickets, I make sure I have enough cash.
Also, I always take my phone charger. A small bag is also handy for storing other items.
How can I make travel more enjoyable?
Not all about going from one point to the next. It should not be about just getting from point A to B.
The app "Traveler" was created to help you plan your trip and create itineraries based upon your interests.
We are currently working to add more features, such as booking flights, hotels, and renting cars.
This project had the goal of creating a simple travel planning tool that would allow people to see more while they are away.
